How to have healthy feet all summer

Sunny days have given the green light to hiking, holidays spent at the seaside or swimming pool. However, it is important that you pay special attention to potential problems that could bring the warmest season of the year. To have healthy legs, we give you some tips that guarantee a peaceful and relaxing summer without visits to doctor.

Here’s how you can avoid some problems specific to the season:

1. Avoid going barefoot

We know it is hot and the shoes or sandals are almost unbearable to over 30 degrees Celsius, but despite the temptation, avoid going barefoot. You need to always wear shoes, slippers or sandals, especially near the pool, in the locker room or on the beach.

This way you will keep your feet away from some unfortunate accidents, injuries caused by sharp objects or conditions such as athlete’s foot or dermatophyte, fungal infections that are favored by moisture and sweat.

Protecting your feet, you can avoid the warts – small size tumors that occur usually on the hands or feet, caused by a viral infection (papilloma virus – HPV).

2. Daily foot care is required

Everyday, keep your feet clean and dry and apply a cream or an anti-fungal ointment.

3. Walk as often as possible

Enjoy the beautiful weather and go for walks as often as possible. Walking is considered the best aerobic exercise for your feet and gives you excellent tone.

4. Massage your feet

If you just returned from a trip, pamper your feet with a relaxing massage. To alleviate the stress experienced by the circulatory system, keep feet elevated for 10-15 minutes.

5. Use socks

Although high temperatures discourage you in this regard, it is advisable to wear socks to protect your feet. They must be made of acrylic or cotton and absolutely must be changed at least once a day.
For added safety, use a powder or an antiperspirant spray, to keep the freshness of legs.

6. Proper shoes and not the same every day

If you feel that your skin does not breathe properly in the legs or the very dark sports shoes, then wear sandals or slippers.

7. Diabetics should not walk barefoot

If you suffer from diabetes, should pay attention to leg protection. Should never go barefoot – minor wounds or bruises can quickly become major infections that can lead on to amputation. Go to orthopedic control annually.
